John Kroger’s Crushing Insecurity

In John Kroger’s book, Convictions, he writes about his girlfriend, Amanda, who cheated on him with another prosecutor in New York. He describes some rather stalkerish behavior, and his sudden impotent feeling of powerlessness, his horror at being “just another civilian”. I think this is instructive.

  1. So, the only thing he cares about it is power. He put 200 people in prison. Not “I protected the public, I enforced the law, I saved people from criminals.” Nothing about his real job, his real power is based on the position and should be protected from abuse.

This entire story is about him, not the position or about the power vested in the position. It is all about his poor ego being hurt, about him feeling like just one of us stupid insignificant citizens. He had to endure getting a ticket for something he actually did wrong and did break the law. I feel so sorry for him. He points out that at the ETF and now Attorney General of Oregon, he gets to accuse, flip and convict even if they are innocent. This is sick/abusive the true definition of a bully. He is the Attorney General of Oregon!!

Poor insignificant unpowerful Citizens of the USA beware!!

Thanks for showing this to the public.

  2. I agree completely. I find it amusing (in a horrible way) how he complains of being “just another civilian” like it’s so awful.

His desire for “status, respect and authority” is a huge red flag. His need to lord over people is not healthy. It’s not the kind of temperate, unbiased person I want in any position to destroy people’s lives. Look at his sulky lust for authority and compare it to someone like Rex Shelby, Scott Yeager, or Joe Hirko – all very unassuming men who, though they did have power at Enron, used it extremely judiciously.

I am sick that these men had to endure being bossed around by this sorry excuse for a man, John Kroger. He personifies the very worst characteristics of men. He has awful judgement, he’s needy, he is jealous, and he’s vindictive. Not who I want as AG or a prosecutor!

  3. Wow. Thanks, TN. I can’t say I’m surprised.

I got an email about his performance as AG. I think I should post it.
