“Does Anyone Know Something About Enron?”

It should go without saying that Yahoo Answers is not the most intelligent place to hang out. Every time I’ve had to go to Yahoo to read some news story, I’m always blown away by the stupidity of the comments, which are second only to YouTube in terms of unreadable garbage. Anyway, some one forwarded a link to me regarding a question posed on the site about Enron. I feel so sorry for whoever is paying for this kid’s education. The questions are so biased and stupid that the kid seems almost smart for not getting it. Almost.

Omg s/he is cheating!!! The assignment is about what YOU the student think about class theory. It is not even about Enron. Really. What ever you think about Enron, you should be able to display an understanding of class concepts. This pissing me off! I watch three times for my assignment, i had not falling in love with Enron or the Enron myth yet, I did not know about thus blog or Cara; I just want to make the Deans list, once before I graduated. I went to class ready to talk about group think and traders.
I had to do a similar assignment in college, and my answers were wrong because it was base on the Enron myth, at least they were MINE!!
I think it a business or plain ethics class. This is biullshit! I have a learning disability and NEVER cheated in school!! A few times, I wanted to but I did not! I hope his get a F

Good point Andie! Not only is he ignorant of the facts, he is not doing his home work and he is cheating.

In the kids defense, he is looking for the answers and probably knows he isn’t getting the entire honest picture from sgitr (it’s very one sided) and seems to be trying to learn. I don’t think it’s cheating to ask others for their opinion- much of my job depends on a host of people with the answers and in the real world no single person is expected to figure everything out on his or her own.

I think the questions are worded to say more than they ask and I think a response from the expert on All Things Enron (our host CE of course) would be a wonderful thing to see the professor read…

The kid deserves to learn the truth and if asking someone else what they think gets him closer to it then more power to him. To those who cry “cheater!” I say (a) life is NOT fair or alternatively (b) all is fair in love and war.

The point of education should be to learn how to learn, not to get the answers all right. How to learn is to ask questions.
